Welcome to Word on the Street Books (“we,” “us,” “our”). These Terms & Conditions govern your use of wordonthestreetbooks.com and any purchase you make from us, whether online, at our brick-and-mortar location at 2044 First Street, Livermore, CA, or at any pop-up or event where we sell books. By placing an order or using our site, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing this website or placing an order with Word on the Street Books, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our site or place an order.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. The version posted on this page is always the current one, and continuing to use our site or place orders after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

3. Orders & Payment

All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including for reasons such as pricing errors, suspected fraud, or a book being out of stock. Payment is processed at the time of order through our website’s checkout. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and do not include applicable sales tax, which will be added at checkout where required.

4. Preorders

Preorders typically ship within 7 days of the book’s release date, unless otherwise specified on the product listing. Preorders that are part of special preorder campaigns may take longer to ship, as we may be waiting on additional items in the campaign to arrive before fulfilling the order.

If you order multiple preorder titles with different release dates in the same order, all books in that order will ship together once the final book is released, due to combined shipping. If you’d like to receive each book as soon as it’s released, please place a separate order for each title.

Preorder Pickup Orders

Pickup orders must be picked up within 30 days of the release date. Books not picked up within this window will be returned to store stock and are not eligible for a refund.

5. Shipping

We ship to the addresses provided at checkout. Shipping times are estimates and not guaranteed, and may be affected by carrier delays outside our control. Please double-check your shipping address before completing your order — we are not responsible for orders shipped to an incorrect address provided by the customer.

6. In-Store Pickup Orders (Non-Preorder)

For in-stock items selected for in-store pickup, we’ll notify you when your order is ready. Please plan to pick up your order within 30 days of that notification. Orders not picked up within this window will be returned to store stock and are not eligible for a refund.

7. Returns & Refunds

We want you to love what you order. If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order so we can make it right. Due to the nature of books as media products, we are generally unable to accept returns on items that are not damaged, defective, or incorrect, unless otherwise noted on the product listing.

8. Product Availability & Pricing Errors

We make every effort to ensure that book availability, release dates, and pricing on our site are accurate. Occasionally, errors may occur (for example, a publisher delay pushing back a release date). If this happens, we will contact you as soon as possible with the option to wait, substitute, or cancel that item for a full refund.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is the property of Word on the Street Books or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use this content without our prior written permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Word on the Street Books is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website or your purchase of products from us. Our total liability for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

11. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
