Almost There: Finishing Touches at 2044 First Street
The finish line is in sight! After months of planning and building, the shop is finally starting to look and feel like a bookstore.
The shelves are done. The stain is on, the wood looks beautiful, and walking through the space now gives us a real sense of what it will feel like to browse here. It’s hard to describe how satisfying it is to see something we’ve pictured for so long finally take shape.
Even better, those shelves won’t be empty for long. Our first shipment of books has arrived, and the boxes are stacked and ready to unpack. There’s something special about opening a fresh box of books, and we’ve got plenty of that ahead of us as we fill the store, section by section.
The furniture arrived too, just under the wire. With the reading spots and fixtures in place, the store is starting to feel like somewhere you’ll want to stay a while.
There’s still plenty to do before our soft opening, but we’re on track to officially open our doors on Saturday, August 22. We can’t wait to welcome you in.
