In the past few years I’ve really enjoyed reading more than I ever have. I read, audiobook, and have an open mind to all stories. I mostly read fiction, historical fiction, sci-fi, young adult, and have just recently started to like LitRPG and Fantasy.
What is your favorite genre?
If it’s a good story I’ll read it! But mostly sci-fi-ish or wild ride types of stories.

Why did you like it?
I’m currently reading the series and is definitely in my top favorites. I didn’t think I would like this but WOW this a wild ride and I can’t put it down.
This book will definitely not be for everyone, but if you might enjoy a very different take on an alien invasion pick this up. I couldn’t put it down and I’m now in the middle of the series.

Kate Quinn
Why did you like it?
I had never read a historical fiction before and I don’t know if I just got lucky but Kate Quinn did an excellent job writing about a female sniper during World War II. This book pulled not only pulled all the heart strings, but had adventure suspense and it kept me wondering would happen next. I’ll definitely be picking up more of her books. Also to find out this was based on a real person was was super exciting.

A Psalm for the Wild Built

Why did you like it?
This is the first of two books in a cozy sci-fi story about a robot and a monk. I don’t think I’m the target audience for this book, but it was really enjoyable, very relaxing. If you’re looking for a sci-fi that has exciting adventure this is not it but if you’re looking for the side journey of the non-main characters this could be right up your alley. Had good themes of future technology coming of age.

Why did you like it?
This was an awesome take on Scooby-Doo and the mystery machine after they grew up and came back to a hometown solve a my mystery. I probably wouldn’t have picked this book up either if it wasn’t recommended by a friend, but it was great and I’ve since recommended it to multiple people and they’ve enjoyed. If you like Scooby-Doo and want a different take of what would’ve happened to the gang in the future when they are in transition from college to real world, pick this up.

The Rivener

Why did you like it?
This was the authors debut book and he said it was a dark wild ride and it was. I really enjoyed the story. There were lots of local Bay Area references. He even has a cool Spotify playlist to listen to when reading.
If you enjoyed books like Snowcrash, or Neuromancer, by William Gibson definitely give this a try.
